Attend Stanford Social Entrepreneurs Competition Events

Social-E Mixer event for mentors to interact with their teams and other mentors and participants - April 13th, 8-10pm in Koret Pavilion

The Social Enterprise Venture Capital workshop is on April 12th from 12pm to 1pm at the Cypress Room in Tresidder. Wes Selke from Good Capital will be speaking about funding for social enterprises and SROI.

The Networking Workshop is on April 14th from 7pm to 9pm at Kehillah Hall in Koret Pavilion. Mike Del Ponte, the founder of Sparkseed, will be discussing how to network.

The law workshop is on April 21st from 7pm to 9pm at Old Union Room 216. Venk Krishnamoorthy from Finnegan Law Firm will be explaining some of the nuances of law involving social enterprises.

The Facebook Causes workshop will be on April 23rd from 7pm to 9pm at the Nitery Room 209. Representatives from Causes will be coming in and sharing insight on web based social enterprises.

Enter the Global Social Venture Competition

Sponsored by the the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, Columbia University Business School, the London Business School, Indian School of Business, and the Yale School of Management, the annual Global Social Venture Competition is for high and moderate growth companies and non-profits building enterprises that address needs in development, energy, environment and health. Winners have included venture-backed companies Regale, Inc., an environmentally-friendly packaging design company and Green Fuel, a biofuels company. To compete, entries must have at least one current MBA student on their team. Teams must submit an executive summary by January 2010. Finalists will be formally introduced to investors.
